Bridge the Gap

Provides educational and social experiences for children that the foster care system does not fund. ​Examples include tutoring, music lessons, athletic fees/equipment, clothing, school supplies, birthday presents and more. Referrals must be made through your social worker.
Extended Foster Care

Former foster youth, ages 18-21, can receive a monthly stipend and/or foster care placement, medical insurance (including mental health), dental insurance, resources and case management in exchange for meeting with an assigned social worker once per month. To be eligible, you must be enrolled in school or a vocational skills program, work an average of 80 hours per month, participate in a job training program, or have a medical condition preventing you from meeting one of the previous three eligibility options.
Independent Living Skills (ILS)

Helps youth in foster care, ages 15-23, successfully transition from state-supported care to independent living. Information, resources and advocacy focused on meeting and achieving your goals related to housing, education and employment. Financial assistance is available for participants 18 and older. Referrals must be made through your caseworker.
Treehouse

The Treehouse Educational Advocacy program works with schools, social workers, foster families and you in foster care to help resolve difficult issues and remove barriers to school success. Educational advocates work with youth in foster care from pre-K through 12th grade graduation throughout Washington state.

Gives advice to foster youth in the state of Washington on living independently, such as information about applying for and finding jobs, exploring housing and living options, preparing for school, budgeting, getting an ID, and advocating for yourself.
Ready Set Grad
Provides information about grants and financial aid options for foster youth at Washington universities.
