The Explorer Program is designed to give students ages 15½ to 21 an opportunity to observe the criminal justice system and assist them in making an informed career decision. Explorers provide non-enforcement assistance to the Sheriff's Office and serve their community through a wide variety of functions.
Volunteer opportunities
Teens for Tomorrow is a nonjudgmental group made up of youth ages 12-18 working to prevent substance abuse among their peers and within their community using their own words and in their own way. Applications are typically open from early-May to early-June.
Provide nonjudgmental support to other teens on the phone and over the Internet. Must be 15-19 available to volunteer for a three-hour shift each week. Applications are open year-round.
The Youth Commission provides youth voice to the work of Clark County Councilors, county departments and community organizations by addressing issues important to youth. The Youth Commission also hosts an annual award ceremony each year honoring 300 youth countywide. Applications are typically open from early-May to early-June.
A substance abuse prevention coalition working for a healthy, thriving and drug-free Clark County. Website includes several resources for youth.
Open to youth, 16+. Must commit to one two-hour shift per week for six months, or five two-hour shifts per week for two months.
